Welcome back DWE families!! I hope this letter finds you all well rested, sun tanned and ready for a new year. The DWE staff is excited to have the students back in the classrooms full of energy and enthusiasm. Please read below for reminders, dates and tasks to be completed.
School Hours
School hours remain the same for the 22.23 school year.
Morning - Doors open at 8:45 and the tardy bell rings at 8:55.
Afternoon - 3:20 we start dismissing car riders and bus riders. Walkers are dismissed at 3:30
Free/Reduced Lunch
At this point in time, the USDA Grant that provided free breakfast and lunch for all students will not continue for the 22.23 school year. If your family qualifies, or you think your family might qualify for free/reduced lunch, please know that you will need to complete the application and be approved for the upcoming school year. The free/reduced lunch application should be completed online through PaySchools Central. (The PaySchools Central link can be found on the home page of our district website. Paper copies will be available only upon request.)
School Fees and Breakfast/Lunch Prices
In June, the BOE made a reduction in school fees for all elementary students. The adjusted fee amounts are below.
K-4th grade - $25.00
5th grade - $40.00
Lunch Price - $3.25 ($0.40 reduced)
Breakfast Price - $1.75 ($0.30 reduced)
***School fees are waived for students that receive free/reduced lunch***
Final Forms and Classroom Placements
If you have not already done so, please complete final forms for your student(s) which can be accessed via our webpage. Once the forms are completed, you will be able to see the classroom your student(s) will be placed in for the 22.23 school year.

August 22nd - Kindergarten Orientation @ 5:00 - 6:00 in student classrooms
August 23rd - Staggered Start for Kindergarten students with last names A-L
August 24th - Staggered Start for Kindergarten students with last names M-Z
August 25th - Staggered Start for Kindergarten students with last names A-L
August 26th - Staggered Start for Kindergarten students with last names M-Z
August 29th - First day for ALL Kindergarten students
1st - 5th Grade
August 22nd - Back to School Night/Open House @ 5:30 - 6:30 in student classrooms
August 23rd - Staggered Start for 1st - 5th grade students with last names A-L
August 24th - Staggered Start for 1st - 5th grade students with last names M-Z
August 25th - First day for ALL 1st - 5th grade students
